It’s really not an exaggeration to say there’s a coffee shop on every corner, especially near UNCOMMON Fort Collins the CSU campus. Each one is going to give you a latte and a place to sit, but some rise above the rest for superior coffee, ambiance, or both. Here are our favorite Fort Collins coffee shops where you can sip, socialize, and study.
Just a block away from UNCOMMON, Harbinger Coffee features a light and airy clean space, lots of seating, and expertly roasted gourmet coffees. These guys really geek out on bean selection, roasting, and brewing, so it’s a great choice if you consider yourself a coffee connoisseur. Tables are good for getting work done on your laptop without developing a pain in your neck.
The Bean Cycle
Quirky and cluttered, The Bean Cycle is the polar opposite of Harbinger, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s a range of seating options from tables, to slouchy couches to bar stools, so you can sit according to your mood. The best part is that within Bean Cycle there’s a shop selling locally made craft items, and an artists collective. Dreamed up by former CSU grads back in 2004, this is a spot you won’t want to miss.
Everyday Joe’s Coffee House
There is really nothing “everyday” about Everyday Joe’s. Run by a nonprofit Christian organization, it is a large warehouse-like space that serves as an art-gallery, event space, meeting and concert hall, church, and coffee house. Because of its size, it’s a great place to work on group projects while enjoying a freshly brewed cup of joe in a friendly, inviting atmosphere.
Sure you can go to that mega-chain coffee shop that everyone else goes to, but why not support the local shops that make Fort Collins a great place to live and go to school? For more great local shops and restaurants, check out the UNCOMMON Fort Collins blog.
